Believe it or not, the very first time I met a "real live" author I was in my twenties! Fortunately, times are changing and students have the opportunity to meet and talk with authors in their schools. Having an author visit their school can open a student's eyes to the realities of the writing process,the wonders of their world, and perhaps even to the possibilities of a career in writing.

Presentations include the following:

• Use of a Powerpoint presentation to explore and discover the reading and writing process
• Open-ended question and answer dialogue detailing my journey from teacher to published author
• Reading of the children’s book
• A single red thread with the help of puppet partner and friend QuYi
• Lunch with the author
• Book signing

Presentations vary depending on audience size and age of students.
Available for Grades Pre-K through 6th Grade. Presentations target reading and writing standards.
