Adoption Poems

Lillian

Lillian is a blessing beyond our wildest imaginations! When God told me to go to China and adopt a little baby girl my first thought was, oh Lord, this is sooooooooo beyond me! In His still quiet voice he whispered, "Exactly my child... it is beyond you... however, I have already gone before you."

The adoption process took two years from start to finish. I remember the moment I laid eyes on Lillian for the first time. My heart began to sing a new song. I was no longer a barren woman! I was and continue to be Mama... greatly BLESSED beyond measure.

John

John became a wonderful added blessing I received when I married his father. Rex and John had suffered great losses in their lives before we met and eventually married. John's biological mother, was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after giving birth. She battled the disease for nearly 8 years before leaving this world for her eternal home.

I will always remember the day Rex and I decided to meet for the first time with our children by our sides. The Tennessee Aquarium was the perfect spot. It was so much fun watching our little ones run from exhibit to exhibit with smiles and laughter. I did not want the day to end!

Separated only by the deep blue sea,
you were born in our hearts...
we were meant be.
The red thread stretched
to a life anew...
Bringing our hearts ever
closer to you.
Our family now is full and complete,
we have joy in life — simple and sweet.
